Ottawa reports the 1959 investment program totals about 8.32 billion dollars, down from 1957’s peak. Officials expect the midyear revision to show a smaller drop or possible rise, amid renewed construction interest and sector adjustments.

Pioneer IV disappeared from tracking after sending strong signals from about 400000 miles out. The USA NASAs Goldstone station reported weak signals at 8:15 a.m. MST as the probe neared space, with experts fearing it may be gone forever.
