British and Norwegian forces raid Lofoten islands off Norway sinking nine German merchant vessels a German armed trawler and one Norwegian ship under German control. About 18 000 tons of enemy shipping were destroyed with 225 prisoners taken including ten Quislings.
Edmonton March 6 Hon Mr Low Provincial Treasurer said the government will present the Alberta budget for the year starting April 1 to the legislature on Monday.
Two bombs accidentally released from Royal Canadian Air Force aircraft near Petawawa Ontario damaged a farmhouse and outbuildings. The court of inquiry departed to open a formal investigation. Reports indicate the farmhouse residents escaped serious injury.
Five eight or nine year old boys drowned on the Ottawa river near Gatineau Mills Quebec after mistaking river foam from a mill sewage outlet for ice. Coroner W. J. Cosetho ruled the deaths accidental and no inquest will be held. The incident occurred during an afternoon ice frolic by families in the paper mill community about three miles east of Ottawa.
