Tragic Farmhouse Double Murder Suicide near Porter's Hill
John D. Martel killed his wife with a shotgun and then shot himself in the heart with a .22 rifle yesterday afternoon at their farm six miles from Porter's Hill. The couple left six children aged 14 to one year, now staying with their uncle Detaeye and likely to be wards of the province. Police found Mrs Martel in the kitchen and Martel dead nearby. no inquest is expected.
