London reports that within 24 to 48 hours the world will learn if Premier Lloyd George will resign or remain head of the Coalition Government. Experts split on the outcome after weekend conferences. Some see coalition survival possible, others foresee his retirement and a mass Liberal departure.
Sir Augustus M. Nanton of Deedard arrived on the Montcalm from Liverpool and praised the ship’s comfort. He forecast rising English industry, noted labor leaders’ courage, and urged Canada to attract more emigrants, warning that many English migrants head to Australia due to Canada’s indifference.

Dr. Albrecht Leroy Shelton medical missionary of the Disciples of Christ was murdered by Chinese robbers February 17 near Lhassa after years seeking entry to Tibet. He was held by brigands for over two months and rescued prior to his death. Born in Indiana he moved to Kansas as a child and became the region’s sole physician within 700 miles when he first went to Tibet in 1903.
The Manhattan Opera House, built by Oscar Hammerstein in 1906, was sold today to the Scottish Rite Masons for $600,000. It will be converted into a temple of the rite.
Berlin reports Dr. Wolfgang Kapp offered to surrender for trial with safe conduct and no arrest. The proposal was sent to the supreme court at Leipaig from an unnamed point in Sweden.

Pickford notes Western Canada’s growing grain output mineral development and Peace River area population surge. Pickford departs St John for Montreal on the evening special train.
New York March 6 Gifts totaling 1 811 666 to schools and colleges nationwide were announced by the general education board of the Rockefeller foundation. The grants come from funds allowing distribution of principal as well as income, following John D. Rockefeller's decision.

St John New Brunswick March 6 There has been a marked tendency toward an increased volume of exports and imports for Britain according to C A Browning of Faudell Phillips and Co London who arrived from Liverpool on the Opagnan Pacific. He notes improved exchange rates and rising purchases by Chile Argentina and other nations with Britain’s exports and imports increasing. Browning also cites a drop in February unemployment by 72000 and says wages may need to fall to boost competitiveness. He observes English business remains firm despite losses from war and predicts an early prosperity revival. Browning has long toured global markets and will proceed to Montreal en route to Winnipeg.
