Saskatchewan deficit climbs to 1.2 billion for year

Regina Saskatchewan's deficit for the 12 months ending March 31 is now expected at 1.2 billion, about 900 million more than forecast. Finance Minister Gary Lane warned that without action the 1987-88 deficit could reach 1.5 billion, adding to an accumulated PC-era shortfall of about 2.7 billion since 1982.
