No Change in Schedules for Western Canadian Pacific Lines
Winnipeg March 4 The Brotherhood of Railway Trainmen will continue the mileage and hours schedules in use since 1831 on the western lines of the Canadian Pacific Railway. A large majority voted down proposals to adjust schedules that would shorten work for junior men at the expense of senior employees. The ballot count was 1 268 against revision and 599 for it. Plot To Blow Up the Commissioner in Palestine
In Jerusalem on March 3 Sir Harold MacMichael arrived Haifa aboard the cruiser Enterprise to assume duties as High Commissioner for Palestine. A bomb plot exploded damaging the track on the train to Jerusalem, discovered as police conducted a security sweep for the new commissioner.

Liberal Group Tables Report On Agriculture
EDMONTON March 4 Telegrams received by the Liberal group in the Alberta legislature re spect agricultural relief were tabled the house yesterday by E L Gray Liberal leader. Tabling develope from debates in the house on agricultural relief and Hon D B Mullen minister of agriculture is expected to table correspondence with Hon J G Gardiner federal minister of agriculture on the same subject. Saskatchewan spent 320000 on free freight in the drought area administered by the Dominion government but received no federal assistance for that purpose said one telegram from Mr Gardiner. Saskatchewan also borrowed 1000000 to give assistance other than that for which the federal government was paying to full Mr Gardiner presumed it was being spent mostly in areas where responsibility was not assumed by the federal government. A telegram from Hon J Taggart Saskatchewan minister of agriculture said the federal government was financing fodder and grain for livestock in 170 municipal units. Deducing the federal grant of 1000000 the province had to take responsibility for more than 1000000 said Mr Taggart.
