Lead hazard known before poisonings at Alberta Recoveries

MARK ROGERS of The News Alberta Occupational Health and Safety knew of lead contamination hazards at Alberta Recoveries and Rentals long before tests showed workers had been poisoned. The director of communications said inspectors ordered a clean up only after December test results showed high lead levels. Peter Trynchy promised to review the case as Earl Howitt and Dave Ladouceur recalled warnings were not given. Tim MacInnis said safety adherence was a challenge. letters and orders preceded test results.
