Four men charged with murdering John Bubbuk were acquitted by a six man jury in Yorkton King's Bench Court. The trial opened Feb. 21 and featured fifty nine witnesses. Bubbuk died five days after a wedding at the Noroski farm near Sturgis, sixty miles north of Yorkton.

Sudbury Ontario March 2 1943 Big John Ungurian a 40 year old Ukrainian restaurant operator was sentenced to be hanged May 16 for the murder of 18 year old Alice Kroiter in a rooming house.
