The murder trial of John Fisk for Tucker Peach’s death ended at midnight after nine days and forty-seven Crown witnesses. Judge Stuart’s summing up suggested little corroboration against Fisk and the jury was locked in. The sole defence witness was Fisk himself.
Ottawa reports a Washington dispatch claiming a Canadian minister may travel to meet President Taft on reciprocity. Fielding and Patterson are in Ottawa. Fielding treats the claim as a joke and offers no confirmation. Senators may adjourn soon, but ministers insist the government will stay the course.

Cable reports from Costa Rica say Dr Rudolph spanosa and forty four others will be shot by the Estrada Government of Nicaragua for suspected involvement in a plot against the regime. No official word has been issued and families fear a delayed announcement after executions.

Four men visited Thomas Bradley's home in Clarke Township on a Sunday evening. While two asked him to join them in the barn, the others allegedly attempted to assault his wife. Later two returned and one held Bradley while the other committed the assault. Wilson McMinus and Lather Brown are under arrest.

Frank G. Bigelow the Milwaukee banker will be released from Fort Leavenworth tomorrow after nearly six years. The parole board recommendation approved by Attorney General Wickersham ends his ten year sentence for embezzling funds from the First National Bank of Milwaukee. He was imprisoned June 11, 1905 following arrest on April 25, 1905 for misappropriating about 1.209 million dollars.
The Manitoba grain growers Association executive passed a unanimous resolution condemning Hon. Clifford Sifton the Winnipeg Grain Exchange the Winnipeg Board of Trade and the Manitoba Legislature for opposing reciprocity. It demands Canadian parliament ratify the reciprocity agreement abolish duties on agricultural machinery and raise the British preference to fifty percent during the present session.
Ottawa March 3 A Commons special committee reported an Act to amend the Medical Act allowing Dominion registry doctors to practice across provinces. It notes Saskatchewan Alberta and British Columbia lack university medical schools and adds two western province appointees to the Medical Council while Ontario's council input is deferred after Dr Sproule's objection.
A Pekin despatch reports the Chinese Government agrees to appoint Russian and Chinese commissioners with full powers to finally determine the disputed frontier.

Evansville reports Polly Ann Weed, 70, a wealthy divorcee, married Harrison Strods yesterday, her ninth husband. Weed has kept ex-husbands' names after each death or divorce, including numbered marriages two through eight. She notes she loved all husbands equally but distrusts the average man.
In Niagara Falls Ontario three men died and six were injured after an explosion in a penstock at the Ontario Power Company's plant. Police believe firedamp caused the blast though the exact cause is not yet known. Names of the deceased include David Henderson and William Orchard.
