Nineteen days before his death, 14 year old David Kootook wrote to his parents from the Arctic barrens with a message that he would see them again in Spence Bay or in heaven. The letter was found at the Beechcraft mercy flight wreck site near Cambridge Bay and Yellowknife, along with pilot Marten Hartwell’s writings.
