In Ottawa on March 2 the closure motion passed by a 108 to 95 vote with All Progressives and Independents siding with the Government. Ernest Lapointe gave notice of closure, and debate centered on the address to the governor general and the motion to proceed without further adjournment.
March 2 London reports the execution of Ignatius Lincoln for the murder during a burglary on Christmas Eve. His father Ignatius Tribich Lincoln, a former NP exile, traveled from the Far East to bid him farewell but did not appear at Shepton Mallet prison for the death sentence.
The closure motion will be moved in the House of Commons by Ernest Lapointe, acting Government leader. The address debate occupied the House with speakers including George Binck, J. H. Short, J. Chabot, and J. R. Nell, all Conservatives, as notices for closure were given yesterday.
Medicine Hat's federal member Dr F W Gershaw MSP returns home amid Ottawa closure to end prolonged debate. He notes recess until March 1 and a brief adjournment to March 15 while government imposes limits on speeches. Gershaw expects to advance tariff amendments reducing auto duties with broad Liberal Progressive Labor support.

Ottawa reports J. E. A. Bisaillon a dismissed Customs officer admitted writing a February 1924 letter seeking a Quebec preventive service chief post. Under examination by H. H. Stevens, Bisaillon cited ministerial replies and showed letters indicating he wanted Mounted Police in the Montreal district answerable to him on customs matters.
King Alfonso of Spain intends to fly to Argentina for a South American visit. He will travel in the sea plane Plus Ultra piloted by Commander Francos, accompanied by Queen Victoria Premier Primo de Rivera and a brilliant suite. Ten seaplanes will form the royal fleet and follow Franco’s Buenos Aires route.
Robbers struck the Tuxedo Theatre in Patrolt Michigan twice in two weeks, totaling about 8000 dollars. A tear gas bomb connected to the theatre safe exploded after the thieves cracked the dial, routing them on the third attempt.
Drilling has resumed at the Roth No 1 well with the hole down 3 050 feet by noon. The 6 5 inch casing set at 3 080 feet is holding and no water is entering the hole.

Copper miner Geo Campbell Carson, famed as a desert wanderer, was ordered by the United States Court to receive a fortune in damages from the American Smelting and Refining Company for alleged patent infringement. Courts including the Supreme Court supported him as he pursued the case against continued efforts to retry.
Wheat futures in Winnipeg closed little changed after a volatile day. May 1.46, July 1.44, October 1.30 1/2, with early short covering giving way to selling pressure before steadying. No export trade noted and grain classes remained light as declines were tested early.
