Safeway reaches tentative Alberta labor pact after talks

Canada Safeway says 8,000 Alberta workers at 83 stores tentatively agree to concessions after round the clock bargaining with the United Food and Commercial Workers. Union votes on the package within 15 days. Safeway faced a wage and benefit cut offer of 45 million and a rival buyout bid from Real Canadian Superstore seen as a safety net.
