The raid involved about fifty patrons and card games, with bottles of whisky found. other searches failed to locate a South Railway street club.

Persian Cat Saves Lives By Arousing Its Owner In Night
In Ottawa March 1 a Persian cat awakened its owner Eugene Latreuille by noisy behavior. He found gas fumes filling the building and his sister Valeria Latreuille 27 unconscious in her room. She was hospitalized in serious condition. Falling soot blocked the chimney allowing fumes to enter the home.
