Art Evans reports a new Canadian party arises from the Jasper Avenue Loafers Luncheon Club in Edmonton. The Intellectual Idlers Party or I LP mocks politics with a platform of loafing and non-doing proposing items like five cent beer and the 40 minute week while planning rotating leadership and nominations of deadbeats in every constituency.
In Saskatoon, six hours of talks failed as the Saskatchewan College of Physicians and Surgeons and Premier Woodrow Lloyd remained divided on a compulsory prepaid medical insurance scheme.
