Local man given 21 months for child pornography case
Medicine Hat man Victor Rahal will serve 21 months in jail after pleading guilty to possessing thousands of images and hundreds of videos of child sexual abuse. He received three years probation and will be on the sex offenders registry for 20 years. The sentence reflected the volume, the involvement of pre pubescent victims, and the use of technology to hide activity. Rahal cooperated with police and expressed remorse, citing a morbid fascination and family impact as factors influencing the case.
