Aeroplane coded call from Russian vessel reported in Seattle

On June 22 Seattle amateur radio operator Ed Stevens heard faint Russian signals from a vessel calling itself AMAZ at 69 N 177 E. The signals repeated the word aeroplane and the phrase I have traffic for you, offering little intelligible content. Stevens linked the call to Jimmie Mattern’s missing world flight and noted Bremerton naval station had no contact with Siberian coast vessels.

Flood Waters At Fernie Receding
