More than 5,000 Medicine Hat residents toured CPR’s No. 3001 Jubilee steam loco and new passenger cars on September 10, 1936. The streamlined train features 4 4-4-4 wheels, 300 psi boilers, self oiling rollers, and top speeds up to 120 mph with luxurious reclining chairs. The Chinook is to run Calgary to Edmonton after coast trips, with construction cost around half a million dollars.
