Dumping Charges May Stall Hat Plant Expansion

AGCL of Medicine Hat faces possible delays to its two stage 50 million expansion as U S authorities review Du Pont charges that Canadian methanol is dumped into the U S market. ITC ruling due by July 9 could end inquiry and keep plans on track or trigger a lengthy full probe and financing delays. AGCL officials in Washington say pricing is not dumping while Du Pont cites margins and market share. Construction could start in September if cleared.

Vietnamese Forces Push Deep Into Cambodia Amid Border Fight

Two Die In Side Road Collision South Of Dunmore

Medicine Hat RCMP report two men died when their vehicles collided on a rural south of Dunmore sideroads. Micheal Schorr 58 of Medicine Hat and Raymond Johnston 25 of Calgary were found at 6 45 p m by a passing motorist. The crash occurred at the intersection of two gravel sideroads 11 miles south and four miles east of Dunmore with no other occupants. Both men were dead at the scene.

Car Stolen After Neighborhood Watch Meeting Sparks Debate

City recreation official John Bokstein found his car missing after a Tuesday night meeting on neighborhood watch. Police had no suspects by noon and no city sanction decision had been reached. Neighbors learned of the theft today as debates on the program continue.

Sunderland land dispute over highway southward diversion plan

Businessmen defied as Sunderland warns his land will be cut by the 13th Ave southward diversion if the city proceeds with the plan. Alderman Sauer argues the modified plan would spare more of Sunderland’s land by restoring the diversion toward the existing highway. Sauer also notes that it is possible the plan may change further.
