Police Court Fines Man for Resisting Police Officers

John Jones of Schuler faced Magistrate Rae at the Police Court on Saturday for resisting a peace officer. He was fined 15 dollars and costs after claiming ignorance of approaching officers at the city market. Evidence showed officers displayed badges and a distress warrant when the alleged act occurred.

Canadian Pacific Introduces New Time Table in Effect

The Canadian Pacific Railway implements a new timetable with evening arrivals at Medicine Hat altered and several trains moved earlier or later. Nos 1 and 4 arrive about two hours earlier while No 13, the Chicago Seattle Express, comes in at 21 55. Eastbound No 14 reaches at 4 25, and the Imperial Limited shifts away from day coaches. Three men named Roblin Coldwell and James H Howden were discharged this afternoon by Justice Prendergast after months under indictment in the Assize Court. They faced charges of conspiracy in connection with Manitoba buildings.

City Police Fine Speeders in Weeklong Campaign

Acting under orders from the City Council the police fined twenty auto speeders $20 each after they were rounded up during a weeklong campaign. They appeared before the magistrate for sentencing.

Sunday Band Concert at Riverside Park Delights Crowd

The City Band delivered a fine concert at Riverside Park drawing a large crowd. The encore for The Whistler and His Dog thrilled listeners while Handel's Largo impressed with its organ like resonance. Riot in Cork as police use machine guns

In Cork Ireland on June 25 police fired on Sinn Felners rioters after clubs failed to stop disturbances. Police cordoned off points as rioters were chased into side streets. One rioter was killed and another severely wounded. about a dozen treated for bayonet and other wounds. The riot was quelled without troops entering the city.

Word arrives of Fte Hirst wounded after enlisting with a Medicine Hat battalion. His family of six includes four daughters in Kwan and two sons. J F Dye of Josephburg reported killed. he was a Russian immigrant who worked for farmer Schroder before enlisting. D McAlpine of Walsh listed as missing while with a Medicine Hat corps.
