Teddy Melbourne Australia AP reports a grey-haired man wearing a red construction helmet and carrying a white teddy bear started a fire at a child care centre shed early Tuesday. Police say he climbed a brick wall and fled as a cabinet and toys burned, about 750 dollars in damage, no injuries.
U S Secretary James Baker announced at a Senate hearing that Washington should widen sanctions on Serbia and Montenegro. He urged expelling Belgrade’s ambassador and expanding suspension from international bodies, condemning the tactics against Sarajevo.
In Paris, four doctors face charges in a case tied to tainted blood supplies that infected thousands of recipients. Michel Garretta and Jean Pierre Allain are accused of deception over product qualities, risking up to four years, while Jacques Roux and Robert Netter face non assistance charges with potential penalties from three months to five years.
