Woman faces charges dropped over police dog stare

A prosecutor dropped cruelty to a police animal and resisting arrest charges against Jayna Hutchinson after determining a dog cannot testify. Hutchinson, 33, of Lebanon New Hampshire, was to stand trial this week for taunting a police dog during a market brawl investigation.

Motorcycle Crash on Carry Drive South East Injures Rider

A 20 year old man operating a 2004 Honda CBR600 traveling east on Carry Drive SE lost control near Cameron Road and struck the curb. Both bike and rider left the road landing on the grass. Rider treated at hospital and released with minor injuries. Speed listed as a factor in ongoing investigation.

Edmonton soldiers mourn three 3 PPCLI troopers killed in Afghanistan

In Edmonton a sombre gathering remembered Private Joel Wiebe Cpl Stephen Bouzane and Sgt Christos Karigiannis of the 3rd Battalion Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry who died near Kandahar when their unarmoured vehicle struck an IED. Colleagues recalled Wiebe as morale boosting, Bouzane as a loyal roommate and friend, and Karigiannis as a capable leader and mentor to younger troops. Flags flew at half-mast as regimental colleagues pledged to remain strong and remember them as individuals.
