Immigration board orders deportation of Sask doctor
Regina based physician John Schneeberger faces imminent deportation after the Immigration and Refugee Board ruled against him. The former doctor, convicted in 1999 of sexually assaulting two victims and obstructing justice, will be removed as soon as arrangements are finalized. Schneeberger, born in Zambia with training in South Africa, moved to Canada in 1987, became a citizen in 1993, had citizenship revoked in December for not disclosing a police investigation, and later held permanent resident status. Prosecutors and victims publicly urged swift action, with officials indicating the process could take only days.
