Brooks residents oppose Ward pond commercial rezoning

Brooks residents petitioned against commercial development near Ward Pond citing traffic, pollution, and loss of a residential character. The town plans to take over the 5.6 hectare pond this year for a reservoir with surrounding land redeveloped as park. Residents favor R-1 single family zoning for the area if rezoning occurs.
