In Stafford Saskatchewan on June 20 a five hour inquest led to the verdict that 18-year-old Steve Bohun of Kryder is connected to the Red Berry postmaster and merchant Peter Pormmeruel murder. The jury found the postmaster was killed by a wilful gunshot behind the counter and Bohun was arraigned for the crime. A crowd gathered as the verdict was delivered at 1 15 am. Crown attorney R B Mills presented the police investigation to the jury chaired by Foreman Stewart Mitchell.

Montreal June 21 Clerical and other employees on the CNR coast to coast face a ten percent pay cut starting July 1st from their basic rates, bringing total cuts to 20 percent in two years. About fifteen thousand employees are affected including stenographers accountants office boys filing clerks passenger station help freight shed workers roundhouse car repair and yard and stores staff.
Dublin reports President Eamon de Valera faced accusations of threatening a dictatorship as the Dail Eireann backed a bill to curb the Senate.
