Lomond Farmer Fatally Dragged by Runaway Horses

Fred Hagan, a young Lomond farmer, was fatally injured after being dragged three-quarters of a mile by runaway horses on Fogarty's ranch near Travers. While repairing wires with a team and chain, the hook caught his boot. he could not free himself. He died a few minutes after the horses halted. His parents live nearby.

Pony kicks child in Bow Island yard accident

In Bow Island on June 16 a two year old girl, daughter of Oliver Rapson, was kicked on the head by a pony while playing in the yard. She required stitches to the scalp, underwent surgery with difficulty due to age, and was reported doing nicely after care by Dr Cairns. The family received sympathy from many friends as the child recovers.
