Redcliff Men Charged With Receiving Stolen Property

F. P. Wilson reported to the mounted police that a Redcliff shack held for Mr. McArder was broken into on Sunday and property stolen. W. Kine and Benny Brownlee were arrested with stolen items found, pleaded guilty to receiving stolen goods, and were fined $20 plus costs, with reprimand and option of housebreaking charges considered. The case was before Magistrate Rae and Inspector Shoesbotham.

Soldiers With Defective Sight Allowed to Remain in Army

Camp Hughes Man June 21 defective vision no longer bars service for already trained soldiers. Retention allowed if defect not total and correctable by glasses to enlistment standard. Naval officers and men in city from old country

About 200 officers petty officers bluejackets and marines passed through the city last night from the old country en route to the coast. Many wore medals from the South African War and some have seen action in the present conflict. They looked smart in their uniforms and are believed to be from H.M.S. Pem broke.
