King George and Queen Mary to Open Irish Parliament

London reports King George and Queen Mary will leave for the Irish Sea port this evening and board a steamer to Belfast where they will preside at the state opening of the Parliament of Northern Ireland. The royal steamer will be escorted by two light cruisers and ten destroyers amid tightened Belfast security. In Bantry County Cork, James Francis Bernard Earl of Bandon was kidnapped by armed men. Castle Bernard was set ablaze and his whereabouts are unknown.

Woman's Division urged for federal agriculture department

Edmonton June 21 Mrs Emily Murphy urged creating a woman's division in the federal department of agriculture to mirror the dominion immigration and colonization unit. The aim is to serve as the federal hub for provincial women's institutes and to guide spending from a ten million dollar Agricultural Act education program.

Vice Admiral Sir William Nicholson was granted a divorce after a suit not defended by his wife. The co respondent named was Capt George Jones of the United States air force, whom Nicholson testified had been billeted near his residence during the war. He said his wife wished the divorce.
