Paris reports at least three weeks of German regrouping under Crown Prince Ruprecht of Bavaria. Austrians push on Montella and Monte Belhina while French and Italian fronts see gains. British naval actions praised for rescue at sea.
The Vienna Workmen's Council voted to raise the bread ration immediately and distribute more vegetables until normal sizes are reached. It protests the policy of not summoning parliament and calls for value limits on wages and night factory work. It urges workers to prevent street riots.
Grave reports from Wales indicate Baron Rhondda, British food minister, is seriously ill and confined at home. Officials fear he may not resume duties at the food ministry if he recovers.
Geneva June 21 German newspapers criticize Emperor Willan's anniversary address at German general headquarters.
