Canadians eat less red meat per capita in 1984
Statistics Canada reports per capita beef consumption fell four percent to 38.32 kilograms in 1984 from 1983. Red meats overall dropped three percent to 70.36 kilograms. Poultry intake rose from 20.28 kilograms in 1976 to 22.91 kilograms in 1983 as Canadians eat less beef and more poultry. Pierre Trudeau plans a private summer trip to the Soviet Union, with no briefing on leadership.
