City Man Faces Trial For Arson

Police Magistrate A. Y. Spivack committed John Ornold to stand trial for arson at the next Supreme Court sitting in Alberta. Ornold allegedly set a fire in the Hartley Building hall on North Railway Street last June 18 after flicking a lighter while near his landlady Bernice Davidson. The blaze filled the hall with smoke as he reportedly tried to extinguish the flames and throw burning newspapers out a window. Bail set at 4000 dollars. Ornold to be defended by C. W. Niblock with Crown representation by A. R. Bull.
