CPR Schedule Normal Again After Derailment Delay
The CPR eastbound Canadian reached Medicine Hat at 11 last night, 13 hours late due to a freight derailment west of Calgary. After 27 hours of CPR crews work, the track reopened at 7 p.m. at the 65 car wreck site, with two cranes and work trains first to pass. East and west bound traffic resumed to normal today despite lumber damage.

Stampede Dance Parade Open Amid Civic Approval
The Stampede Company won clearance for three downtown phases of its annual promotion the street entertainment and street dance the big parade and use of the market square building for the women's exhibition. An unofficial opening is set for Wednesday July 18 at Athletic Park with the parade on July 19 and the official opening at 2 p m with Tom Brooks of Calgary presiding. Downtown streets will be decorated and merchants will dress their fronts in stampede motifs. The market building will host exhibition entries for several days prior to the fair.
