Medalta site seeks world class historic clay district status
About one hundred people toured Medicine Hat's Medalta site as the Historic Clay District unveiled plans to transform the Medalta and Hycroft China facilities into a living, working museum by 2007 with a goal of 90 000 annual visitors by 2012. The restoration revives 1895 era equipment and expands interpretive centres while preserving the clay legacy. Tours run daily with continued development aimed at economic benefits for Medicine Hat and Southern Alberta.
