In Parksville British Columbia police found a partial break in after the liquor store door was left unlocked at 6 pm. A shopper took one bottle of Teachers scotch paid for it plus a 40 cent tip leaving $27. Police said the act was legally break and enter but unlikely to be charged.
Former US president Carter reportedly told North Korea the Clinton administration might suspend sanctions, a claim White House later denied while stating no suspension was decided. The dispute followed North Korea pledges on inspectors and relations as UN discussions continue.
May consumer prices fell 0.2 percent year over year as Quebec tax cuts and lower clothing costs drove the decline. StatsCan cautions deflation is not yet proven while price drops were strongest in Montreal and Quebec, with mixed results across other cities.
Police and media reports say a blood stained ski mask and a bloody entrenching tool were found in O J Simpson home and linked to the killings of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman.
