Chilly weather could not dim the Decoration Day service by Medicine Hat’s Canadian Legion. Capt. Rev. J. F. Butcher delivered a brief eloquent address at Riverside park as wreaths were laid and the Last Post sounded. The ceremony moved to Hillside cemetery where veterans’ graves were decorated with Union Jacks and crimson geraniums. Salvation Army band led hymns and the chaplain spoke on commemorating all who sleep in this sacred spot.
