London June 7 The experts reached a tentative agreement on controlled stabilization of exchanges to smooth fluctuations rather than fix rates. The accord, sent to governments for approval, may be announced before Monday markets open. Tariff truce gain 38 adherents.
Major General James H. MacBrien, Canada’s flying police commissioner, narrowly escaped injury when his aircraft was forced to land in Radville. He and his son exited unharmed as mechanics repaired the damaged plane during an unscheduled stop on the journey from the Pacific Coast to Regina.

Four federal officers and a prisoner were killed when machine gun fire opened on a convoy in front of Union Station. Investigators say gunmen sought to abduct Serank Nash, a Nash Oklahoma train robber held for transport to Leavenworth. One other officer was wounded as attackers fled in cars.
Testimony at the preliminary hearing described David A. Lamson's exclamation Oh God Why did I marry her when officers found blood around the Stanford campus home. The deputy sheriff also testified to blood in the bathroom hallway front room both bedrooms and slippers in the tub area. Lamson, Stanford University Press executive, faces murder charges in the death of his wife Allene May 20. Dr Margaret Lamson, sister of the accused, pleaded with him not to speak.

Detroit June 16 Henry Ford in an interview urged ending the dole system and the Reconstruction Finance Corporation to restore economic balance. Ford dismissed war debt relief as ineffective for plain people and noted Russia’s lack of formal recognition.

In Lafayette Indiana on June 17 two policemen and two suspected robbers were wounded when a gun battle ended after an outsider joined the fight. Witness Harry H Huston 32 seized a submachine gun from a wounded officer and fired from a second floor as the robbers fled.
