An unidentified woman sits on a chair fixed to a wall six meters above the ground during the X-times people chair performance by Angie Hies! Production in downtown Prague. The scene is part of the 14th International Prague Quadrennial exhibition of scenography and theatre architecture, the world’s largest of its kind.

Jumping sturgeon injures woman on Suwannee River

A 32-year-old woman from Bell, Tara Spears, was knocked unconscious by a leaping sturgeon while boating on the Suwannee River north of Rock Bluff, Florida. She was taken to a hospital with non life threatening injuries and is expected to recover. The incident follows an April attack on a St. Petersburg woman on a personal watercraft with severe injuries.

Local School Hosts Outdoor Fundraising Barbecue

The Ecole les Cypress hosts a fundraising barbecue at the Brick today from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Medicine Hat's new medical evacuation helicopter will be on display along with police, ambulance, and fire department emergency vehicles. Early birds may arrive at 9 a.m. to watch the helicopter descend and land.

Cypress Hills Learn to turn your yard into a paradise workshop

A nature scaping workshop at Cypress Hills Interprovincial Park Alberta Sunday 9 am to 12 pm at the Alberta Visitor Centre. Horticultural specialist Cathy Linowski from Medicine Hat College and invasive species expert Darian Kath will teach bird and butterfly plantings native plants and how to avoid harmful invasive species. Saskatchewan unveils plan to cut emissions by 2020 and 2050

Saskatchewan releases a plan to tackle climate change and grow its energy sector. The strategy targets a 32 percent reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by 2020 and an 80 percent cut by 2050 built on five emissions reductions wedges. Saskatchewan produced 69.1 million tonnes of CO2e in 2004 per Environment Canada's inventory.

Slave labourers freed in central China brick kilns

State media said 468 slave labourers were freed in the past month from brick kilns and illegal sites in central China. They were starved beaten and forced to work 14 hours daily. The announcement followed a national investigation ordered by President Hu Jintao into widespread slave labour in rural kilns.
