Health Minister Dennis Timbrell warns higher taxes premiums and patient fees could cover a $1.5 billion cut planned by Finance Minister Allan MacEachen, with Ont ario’s health budget potentially shrinking by $600 million. The shift aims to boost home and community care as acute care beds strain, while aging, fewer taxpayers intensify funding challenges.
