The Dominion bureau of statistics reports 1920 sown areas for Canada with oats at 15,291,000 acres up from 14,952,000 last year an increase of 339,000 acres 2 percent. Wheat falls to 16,921,000 acres from 19,126,000. Other grains hay and potatoes listed with declines and 2 percent potato area drop.
Montreal June 15 building trades organizations of the federation meet to oppose the one big union of Canada. They plan to send 20 international union representatives to Winnipeg to start a campaign. The move targets the Vancouver Montreal and other city chapters with charter revocations and new locals to replace those expelled.

The Ottawa Great War Veterans association voted to take no action on the Dominion command manifesto urging local branches to push parliament to go to the country. A lively meeting ended with a majority opposing political action by the group.

In Esserville near Bristol West Virginia a feud between the Wee and Berry families led to a Saturday gun battle in Littletown. Robert Pee and George Polly are dead Dewitt Fee and a baby are seriously wounded while Tom and George Berry are slightly wounded. The conflict began last week when Berry brothers allegedly held up and disarmed a Berry deputy sheriff.
Montreal report details nine year old Sarah Seho pushed into the Dominion Express stables elevator shaft by a boy. The descending car struck her, fracturing her skull en route to General Hospital. Police search for the assailant boy.
Four Michigan counties appealed to the state farm bureau for aid to combat a fast spreading grasshopper pest. The farm bureau will provide poison, as hundreds of acres of grain crops have already been devastated per county agents.
In Little Rock, Arkansas, on June 15 a man tried to light a cigar near a small gas well. The flame ignited the gas with a roar, flames leapt over the crowd and eight people were injured, six of them women whose clothing caught fire, several in critical condition.
London reports negotiations between the Egyptian delegation led by Zighlul Pasha and Viscount Milner are progressing well. Britain is said to offer Egypt substantial autonomy on certain grounds, but Cairo talks were moved due to a boycott by Egyptian Nationalists against the Milner mission.
A heavy rain drenched areas east of Medicine Hat lasting from one and a half to two hours. The storm stretched from Havre Montana to Hilda and Schuler and extended along the CG P R main line and the Empress branch. Mr Ratliff, visiting the south country, said the storm’s western edge was within five miles of Medicine Hat.
