175th Battalion Leaves Medicine Hat Amid City Welcome

The 175th Battalion marched to Riverside Park at 10 pm drawing a large crowd after a nine o'clock gathering. Mayor Hawthorne and aldermen welcomed the soldiers. clergy offered prayers and encouragement as Col. Spencer urged recruitment and unity. The mayor recalled Lord Kitchener’s loss and expressed strong support for the mission ahead.
