Hospitals double pay for SARS workers in Toronto alliance

Ontario will cover doubled pay for front line SARS staff at four Toronto hospitals Scarborough General North York General St Michael s and the Etobicoke site of William Osler Health Centre. The premium targets nurses X ray technicians and other staff in SARS related roles amid concerns over agency temps and protection for all at risk workers. The move aims to recognize the special case of the SARS response and retain full time staff.
