Fire at a Chicago bungalow ends in death of Mrs Grace Tomaselli. Christine Denert rang the doorbell triggering sparks from a buzzer that damaged the rear brick home and ignited gas fumes on the stove. Fire captain William O Grady says gas escape preceded the blast.

Fire at the Roman Catholic Mission Hospital in Fort Simpson Northwest Territories caused losses over 50000 dollars. Sisters in charge organized evacuation saving all patients and much hospital equipment. Nuns marshaled children from the Mission School and moved patients from wards to safety. The building stood about twenty years old.
Stewart Agrain of Regina Saskatchewan was chosen as Grand Master of the Grand Black Chapter of British North America for the coming year at the closing session in Brockville Ontario. Fred H. Bole a prominent Winnipeg grain man was sentenced to two years in the penitentiary for obtaining money from the Bank of Montreal by false statements. He headed the Electric Elevator Company Ltd and had recently been suspended from trading on the Winnipeg Exchange after pleading guilty in Provincial Police Court.
Rain reached .36 inch in the city by 5 30 am with reports of four to sixteen hours of rain from Swift Current to Alberson and across the Burstall subdivision. At about 7 30 p.m. yesterday R Bullen sustained a deep cut above the left eye and was treated at the hospital after his auto collided with a car driven by G M Peerson of Reacliff at the Second Street South Railways Street intersection. The impact sent Bullen’s car across the intersection and both vehicles were badly damaged. Peerson faced reckless driving charges in police court, with the case adjourned to Saturday morning.

Cambridge England June A.P. reports Detective Sergeant Willis died in hospital from wounds received yesterday during a shooting at King's College. The incident left A F R Wollaston and D N Potts involved. Willis became the third fatality as the case remained unexplained with unclear motives.
The Liberal party in Sturgeon constituency names John Kgusek of Radway Centre to contest the riding on June 19, replacing withdrawn E Pilkington after Ukranian opposition. In Grande Prairie Liberals will not nominate a candidate to oppose Hugh Allen of the UFA in the last Assembly.
Silton Saskatchewan June 4 The remains of 1100 bushels of grain and a 13000 bushel capacity elevator were destroyed by smouldering flames that broke out about 10 30 last evening following a fire that started on the loading track. Several empty sacks were saved and a Baliney standing on the track survived.
