Firemen welcome rain near Chibougamau blaze
In Chibougamau Quebec firefighters fought two woodland fires for five days as a rain aided crews. One fire, driven by winds toward the town 150 miles north of Montreal, was contained after a bulldozer cut a fire-break. Six people were rescued from a smoke filled shelter on the golf course as flames approached. Marcellin Tremblay, 40, was found near a burned sawmill and confirmed dead, the first victim of the outbreak. The mill employed about 30 people.
