Magazine Solicitor Dead In Hotel Room

Detroit, June 3. Miss Mary Haydis a 27 year old former school teacher and daughter of wealthy New York parents was found dead in a hotel room. Police initially cite heart disease but autopsy revealed bruises on neck and face and a broken neck. She came here with a crew of magazine solicitors.

Elephant gun exhibit at News office and other odd firearms

Mr Ted Ashburner left a large bore double barrelled rifle at the News office. The weapon can fire shell two and a quarter inches in circumference four inches long and will pierce a 10 by 10 timber. Master Gunner LN said law will guard the piece. Also described is Jack Robertan’s two barrel gun with twelve gauge and 30.30 bore components.

Taber Farmer Injured In Stable Accident

Taber farmer John Harding tangled with a horse while harnessing a stall pony on Tuesday afternoon. The frightened animal kicked, leaving Harding with multiple injuries including a broken leg, severe head cuts, and a badly kicked shoulder after he freed the horse and crawled fifty yards to his car to summon help.

Oil flows over top of Devenish No 3 well

Lethbridge June 1 oil flows over the casing at Devenish No 3 in the Skiff field. The flow is steady though not large and runs into the sump through holes in the control head with no sign of water. The well depth is 3039 feet. Navy aircraft carriers with various aircraft will be open to the public during Portsmouth navy week August 17 to 24.

Despite cool cloudy weather a good turnout filled Riverside Park for the Medicine Hat Citizens' Band opening concert of the season. More than half the players are newcomers to the city, joining a finely received program that drew warm applause from the audience. The band appreciates public support and pledges further improvement.
