A general sympathy strike in Vancouver, tied to the Winnipeg action, is set for 11 a.m. today with exemptions for firemen police bakers and bakery staff milk wagon drivers theatre hospital laundry hotel and restaurant workers and city workers on grave digging waterworks care. Big German Strike in Occupied Area Is Quelled

In Coblenz on June 3 a general strike across the occupied region lasted four hours from 9 to 1 amid protests over reports of a Rhine republic at Weisbaden. Railway and streetcar workers led the stoppage. Allied authorities warned of consequences if labor did not resume. The Interallied Railway Commission said all workers returned to duty and Coblenz papers denied the Weisbaden republic claim as German mischief.
