Knife-wielding man robs hotel at closing time

A knife-wielding Caucasian man wearing a Halloween mask robbed Newell Hotel at about 3 a.m. Friday, threatening a staff member in a bathroom stall and fleeing on foot with cash. The employee was unharmed. Brooks RCMP urge caution and ask for information or the return of a mask or knife.

SaskWater to raise water rates by eight percent

Saskatchewan Crown utility SaskWater will increase rates for treated water by 56 cents per thousand gallons starting July 1, reflecting higher electricity energy and labour costs. About two thirds of customers will be affected including 27 municipalities 23 industrial users and over 250 domestic customers.
