Floods ease in Calgary area as waters drop

Flooding around Calgary eased as Elbow River and other creeks fell after two days of rain. Minor garden flooding occurred while 30 percent more water flowed down the Elbow River. In Turner Valley power restoration to about 70 farms followed Sheep Creek floods. The Trans-Canada Highway near a washed out bridge caused detours on Highway 1A. Hundreds of acres in Milavllle remained underwater as cattle were moved to high ground.

Veteran seeks Red Ensign rally amid Maple Leaf clash
