Transport Minister Don Mazankowski announced plans for a $120 million grain and oilseed terminal at Prince Rupert British Columbia with construction expected to begin early in 1981. He outlined the project during a briefing with Agriculture officials.
Alberta plans a 100 million dollar loan to support a six firm consortium building a new grain terminal at Prince Rupert British Columbia. Construction could start in late 1980 or early 1981 with capacity up to 150 million bushels annually and Ottawa underwriting some costs.
The Energy Resources Conservation Board approved a $4.9 billion Alsands oil sands development north of Fort McMurray. In a six paragraph release the ERCB said the project would be in the public interest and proceeded with conditions.
