A scrambled OCR fragment lists various seafood items including lobsters crabs mackerel and relishes alongside odd phrases. It appears to be an unreadable menu or advertisement with no clear event or person details.
A body seen near the C P R bridge around five, later brought to town. Capt. Ross pursued the line on the Assiniboia to Police Point. The remains were taken to Bridgeman's undertaking rooms. Funeral planned for 3 PM conducted by the Knights of Pythias.
Saturday evening Geo. Martin suffered a fractured jaw when a Star Dairy delivery horse, tied behind Waldock's, grew restless and kicked him as the lines tightened. Dr Calder attended, and Martin was moved to his boarding house to recover with an uncertain prognosis.
The notice lists shipments by Wetherly Bros JH Spencer Paul Penland J Burchill G B Murphy D Hamilton and others from Medicine Hat with numerous geldings mares colts cows and steers shipped July 18 to 23, including monogram marks and various body locations. Inspector J H G Bray and Mr Jury of the Canadian Immigration Department visited, with Mr Cochran traveling to Macleod and Calgary.
D of Brant Oliver and A W L Sifton acted as speakers at a session chaired by Mayor Pinlay. Mr Scott reviewed the session and urged attention to key questions. Sifton touched on Northwest matters and both speeches will be reported next week. A vote of thanks was given by Fewings and McCutcheon.
Miss Sadie Argue and Mr W W Cooper married at the Argue residence near town in a ceremony led by Rev Wilson. About thirty five guests attended, with Miss McLeod as bridesmaid and Miss Smale as wedding match. They left for Medicine Hat on the 22.03 train after a generous reception and gifts from eastern points.
Warm praise for Canadians at the imperial celebration. Canadians hailed as a strong daughter nation with vast potential and historic deeds. A wedding at The Maples in Maple Creek on July 25 united Miss Harriet Creba and Mr. F. W. Porter with family and friends attending the ceremony conducted by Rev. M. C. Flatt.
A birth is announced in Medicine Hat with Mrs. A. B. Carle welcoming a daughter born the 26th of the month.
Returning from Winnipeg, Mr. Mullins says the sale is the largest ever in the district. Between 1,800 and 2,000 head of beef cattle will be moved in two shipments, first mid August weighed at Dunmore. Old Country demand boosts export prospects amid limited local supply.
The Hampshire Advertiser reports Rev H A Tudor M A has been appointed diocesan organizing secretary for the Society for the Propagation of the Gospel by the Bishop of Condon. Tudor, known in Montreal and Ottawa, has served in Medicine Hat Winnipeg Umtata and as acting chaplain in the Imperial forces during the war. He holds a South African medal with four clasps for Cape Colony Wepener Transvaal and Wittebergen.
