Drumheller Alberta six children of Mr and Mrs W R Ferguson are now wards of the Alberta government after public welfare inspector C Woodfield announced the move. Mr Ferguson, 68, was sentenced to a year of hard labor for chaining his eight year old son Harry Harold for a week in a filthy stable. Mrs Ferguson received a suspended sentence due to pregnancy and returned to the farm. The children aged four to ten were taken from the Drumheller area.
