German submarine destroyed on French coast

Canadian War Widows Bouquet Presented to Queen
During the Westminster Abbey Mass for Confederation, Mrs Hart McHarg gave a bouquet on behalf of 150 Canadian war widows as Royal carriage paused. Lieut Col McHarg C D of the 17th Battalion was killed at St Jullien. He was a noted rifle shooter and a Vancouver barrister.

Unity rally forms Next of Kin branch in Alberta
Two to three hundred women, all linked as next of kin to soldiers, gathered in S.C.E. Hall for a Calgary meeting organized by Mrs. Lew with Mrs. Pott in the chair.
